From humble beginnings dating back to the introduction of television in Australia in 1956 for the Melbourne Olympic Games, Hills Antenna & TV Systems has been at the forefront of antenna design and manufacture in Australia and New Zealand.
Through our wholly owned and partly owned associate companies, joint ventures, technology transfer agreements and widespread distribution arrangements, we have steadily expanded the area and scope of our activities.
We now provide solutions for distribution of video and audio information using any of the available technologies at present, including optical fibre, IPTV, HDMI as well as traditional RF. Hills can provide a tailored system that is optimal for whatever distribution systems requirements are presented.
Continuous improvements to our products over the years, with the introduction of colour TV in Australia the ‘70s and digital TV in 2001, means that Hills antennas are now the premium antennas in Australia, with excellent performance characteristics and mechanical strength and reliability that is the benchmark for the industry.
The Hills Antenna manufacturing and R&D facility is located in Adelaide and both the manufacturing and the design and development processes are accredited to ISO 9001 Quality Standard.
Design and development resources include an full scale outdoor antenna test range with dedicated sweep and patterning software, state-of-the-art electromagnetic modelling and CAD software for RF, mechanical and electronics applications and a comprehensive range of test and measurement instruments.
Our factory produces high volume free-to-air antennas, satellite dishes, RF electronics and mounting hardware. The plant and equipment includes high speed presses, plastics injection molding machines, robot welding station, 300 tonne forming and blanking presses, automatic surface mount assembly machines, ultrasonic assembly, five stage spray pre-treatment lines, automatic electrostatic powder coating lines and special purpose antenna manufacturing machinery.
Hills has been involved in the satellite reception market since 1982 and, as a design partner for the subscription TV industry since its beginnings in Australia, we continue to provide the highest quality satellite antennas available.
Hills also designs and manufactures a range of certified antenna mounts for use in various locations throughout Australia and New Zealand for both TVRO and VSAT applications.
In New Zealand, the name Hills-SignalMaster has been widely recognised for many years as the premium provider of solutions to the local market. With customised products and solutions to suit New Zealand requirements, Hills-SignalMaster continues to offer support throughout the country.
