Over the last few months a major change has commenced to Fielders operations at Wangara (WA) with the implementation of a Fielders home grown Upload/Download manufacturing system.
This followed the decision by the Fielders board to invest over $400,000 in the deployment of the platform which is unique to Fielders.
“Over the next few months the remaining machines will be retrofitted with Motion Design controllers and the site will begin to realise the massive benefits the software brings to their day to day operations”, says Ryan Briggs, Manager Information Systems.
When the project is completed, 30 machines will have this software, bringing many benefits to the factory:
· Automated achievement
· Increased visibility to the manufacturing process
· Reductions in errors and waste
· Product label printing on the fly
· Increased production efficiency through the advanced scheduling capabilities of the software
“The system has been extremely well received and we are enjoying the benefits of efficiency and flow of information that this brings. The uniform operating system will greatly assist in multi-skilling and we look forward to the next phase of the rollout in the New Year”. Said Brett O’Mara, State Operations Manager of WA.
